The Pending Calamity

by | Apr 25, 2024 | 2024 US Elections

On November 5th, 2024, an election will be held to determine the next president of the United States. At the moment, the two major contenders are the incumbent president Joe Biden, a Democrat, and the former president, Donald Trump, a Republican. There is also a scattering of third-party candidates, the most prominent being Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of assassinated one-time presidential contender, Robert F. Kennedy, who was the brother of former president, John F. Kennedy. Whatever the outcome of the election might be, I predict chaos will follow.

Approximately half the citizens of the United States believe the 2020 election was stolen from their candidate, Donald Trump. That is, they believe the Democrats rigged the election by illegally harvesting mail-in ballots and utilizing voting machines that were capable of being compromised. Although there was evidence of voter interference, the Republicans making these allegations have not been able to provide sufficient proof to give their argument credibility.

Notwithstanding, a huge number of people are absolutely convinced that the evil Democrats put their full weight on the presidential election scale. That unalterable feeling was exacerbated by candidate Biden, who was beyond his best-before date and clearly exhibiting early signs of dementia the few times he exited his basement during the previous election campaign, held during the Pandemic. Also, when most of the country went to bed on election night, Trump was well ahead in crucial swing states only to have things dramatically change as election night went on. Republicans had many reasons to question the results of the election, but what the Democrats had that the Republicans did not, was the rabid loyalty of the left-loving mainstream media, which loudly shamed and ridiculed anyone who had the audacity to question the validity of the election.

The Republicans, encouraged by Donald Trump, questioned the election results in virtually all of the crucial swing states. In fact, Trump lobbied legislators to refuse to certify the election results until he could further investigate the veracity of the election results in several jurisdictions where the votes were very close.

While all of this was going on, a large rally was planned for Washington, DC in an effort to influence legislators to delay the certification of the election. The rally attracted thousands of people who, at Donald Trump’s urging, marched to the Capitol to show their solidarity with the president. Trump asked them to march “peaceably and patriotically.”

Sadly, as with many gatherings where emotions run high, the crowd got out of control and breached security, ultimately occupying several Capitol buildings and doing some damage. (A female, an unarmed demonstrator, was shot in the neck by a United States Capitol Police officer and killed. The officer has never been held to account. Also, the head of the FBI has refused to deny that undercover FBI agents were present at the Capitol to mingle with the demonstrators.)

The Left made much of this breach of the Capitol buildings and blamed Donald Trump for what they called an “attempted insurrection.” Fast forward and Joe Biden is sworn in as president and his cabinet is appointed. Donald Trump eventually announces his intention to once again run for president in 2024.

At that point, the ultra-leftwing mainstream media, Attorney General Garland, and Democrat prosecutors, funded by wealthy socialists, began a coordinated effort to do anything and everything to derail Trump’s quest to regain the White House. It seemed that their plan of attack was to keep Trump too busy defending himself against a plethora of charges to focus on the election. Indeed, Trump has been occupied and has spent millions of dollars defending himself in front of Democrat-appointed judges, who regularly showed their bias in their many outrageous, unjust and unlawful decisions.

However, the more abuse that was heaped on the former president, the more support he received from voters. The average person seemed to understand inherently that something unjust was going on, and that Donald Trump was being abused by a politicized, unfair and corrupt judicial system. (As an aside, the general perception is that judges are smarter and function at a higher level than the average person. Let me dissuade you of that fallacy. Obviously, there are some really smart, thoughtful, even-keeled judges who do an outstanding job dispensing justice, but an equal number, and perhaps more, you would not want to decide your fate. Too many judges at all levels of our Courts in North America are, frankly, unqualified, political hacks. A sad situation to be sure, where justice, the most important pillar of any democracy, is seriously compromised.)

In Georgia, a District Attorney by the name of Fani Willis brought election interference charges against Donald Trump and numerous other individuals. During the proceedings, one of the defendant’s lawyers received information that Ms. Willis was abusing her position as District Attorney and, on behalf of all defendants, brought a motion to have Willis and her office removed from the case.

The proceedings were televised, and viewers witnessed Willis disrespect the Court and, as many observers believe, watched her commit perjury.

What was revealed was that Willis hired her boyfriend as special prosecutor of the case and authorized a salary which, on its face, seemed more than excessive. The boyfriend then proceeded to take Willis on exotic holidays. Willis and the boyfriend testified under oath that they paid their own way on these holidays, even though the expenses showed up on the boyfriend’s credit card. Willis testified that she paid him back in cash, an allegation that the boyfriend confirmed. However, neither Willis nor the boyfriend were able to produce any evidence to support their testimony.

The 35-year-old judge, a recent appointment who was up for re-election within the next few months, decided that the boyfriend must resign from the case but allowed Willis to remain on the file. The defendants are appealing the judge’s decision and asking that steps be taken by the Court to address what appeared to be perjury committed by several witnesses including Willis and her former Chief Prosecutor/boyfriend.

Tens of millions of people who voted for Donald Trump are watching this court case very carefully. What do you think these folks might do if they see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears what has and is transpiring in that Georgia courtroom, and witness first-hand their choice for president not getting a fair trial?

While the Georgia case is proceeding at a snail’s pace, New York State’s Attorney General, Letitia James, kept a campaign promise by charging Donald Trump, his sons and his companies with fraud. The allegation is that they overstated the value of their personal and company assets to secure loans from some of New York’s largest and most sophisticated banks. The process, orchestrated by another Democrat-appointed judge, was fraught with one odd ruling or finding after another, culminating in the judge ordering Trump and his companies to pay the State of New York almost half a billion dollars, an outlandish finding by any measure and an even more outrageous judgement. To make matters worse, before Trump could appeal this decision, the judge required him to post a bond equal in sum to the amount of the judgement, an action which shone a bright light on the stupidity of New York law. A bond this size has never been seen before in all of New York state jurisprudence. Fortunately, Trump’s appeal of the size of the bond was successful, and the bond requirement was reduced by sixty percent. (James is now having her department investigate the bond company that granted Trump the bond.) Trump then posted the bond within the time limit, allowing him to appeal this unprecedented and very odd decision.  By the way, I will be absolutely shocked if the New York Court of Appeal does not reverse this decision. I also expect that this particular trial judge will be sanctioned by higher Courts and/or Judicial Councils.

Believe me, millions of people are watching these proceedings and judging for themselves if their presidential candidate is being treated fairly. If they collectively feel abused because their choice for president has been abused judicially, what then?

Again in New York, a District Attorney by the name of Alvin Bragg has charged Donald Trump with covering up payments he allegedly made to a so-called porn star approximately a decade ago. Bragg’s star witness is the convicted liar Michael Cohen who, if you watch and listen to him, is a bad guy from top to bottom. Once again, the trial is presided over by a Democrat-appointed judge. Donald Trump’s followers are watching. Carefully.

The last charges against the former president stem from files Trump took with him when he left the White House, probably to use when writing his memoirs as all past presidents have done.  A special counsel was appointed by Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland. The special counsel is a lad by the name of Jack Smith, a loyal Democrat whose over-zealous prosecutorial style has gotten him in trouble with the courts in the past. Smith was desperate to have this so-called “Documents Trial” concluded before the November 5th, 2024 Presidential Election, hoping, of course, for a conviction.

Unfortunately for Smith, Trump’s Florida trial was assigned to a judge who, for a change, was not a rabid Democrat and has caused Smith various delays that have scuttled his plans to have Trump’s trial finished before the election.

By the way, at the exact same time, another special counsel was appointed to investigate Joe Biden’s hoarding of the classified documents he accumulated while he was a senator and vice president under Obama. In a nutshell, the special prosecutor found that Biden broke the law, but because of his age and dementia, declined to recommend that Biden be charged with an offence. However, the charges against Trump carry on. Trump’s supporters are watching. Carefully.

Now, that introduction was much too long, but I felt that I had to set the stage for the main theme of this blog: the population of the United States is deeply and, perhaps, irretrievably fractured. If Trump wins the election, the mainstream media, the professorial class, the Hollywood elites, the American Bar Association, suburban white women and Blacks will simply not accept Donald Trump as their president. It seems they would prefer a physically challenged, senile old man who is being handled by unelected backroom, leftwing ideologues. If Trump wins the election, this same group will protest; they will light fires, they will riot, they will rob, steal and loot. They will do whatever is necessary to deny Trump the White House. Trump supporters are now fully aware of the game the Left plays and will, I think, act accordingly this time.

On the other hand, if Biden wins the election (and the public—Trump supporters in particular—perceive the election to have been fair and above-board) and puts a stop to the prosecutorial harassment of Donald Trump, nothing much will happen except that the country will continue its slide further, inch by inch, insidiously, into a shadow of its former self. No country, regardless of how powerful it may be, can survive four more years of the pathetically inept governance it has endured since the 2020 election (see my earlier blog on that subject).

However, if Trump supporters perceive the events leading up to the election—and the election itself—to be unfair, stolen or rigged, the result will make the Democrat’s protests pale in comparison. This time, the much-abused Trump voter will not sit quietly by but will be prepared to take actions they would never have dreamed of taking before the calamity of the Obama/Biden era gripped the country.

My advice? Stay far away from the United States immediately following the election. If you own property in the US and you are thinking of selling, do it well before November. If you are planning on renting a vacation home in the US, don’t do so beyond October 2024, and if you are thinking of vacationing at a US resort after October 2024, reconsider.

Taking into account all of the foregoing, my observation is that the United States is a powder keg ready to blow. It would not take much for a calamity to occur. Certain segments of society have been terribly abused by a governing class that insists all citizens comply with their dictates. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, trans rights, school boards hijacked by the far-left, the apparent support of an open southern border, and the prevalence of illegal immigration, sanctuary cities, tent encampments, drug use, drug smuggling and human trafficking, to name but a few examples, have become commonplace in the US, even though these new-found rules and regulations defy common sense, fairness and decency. You can rest assured that the supporters of Donald Trump have taken notice.

The insistence from the Left that certain minority groups have been mistreated—judging it to be past time to make up for a multitude of sins, real or perceived—is simply unacceptable to the silent majority. The result is that many citizens perceive too many left-wing policies and laws that defy common sense to be totally unfair, particularly to those who work hard, pay their bills, pay their taxes, and support their communities. Those, in turn, who go to church and follow the “Golden Rule” have been vilified and abused by a predominantly secular, very loud, vocal segment of the country that is pushing their society irretrievably and inevitably to chaos, violence, intimidation and ultimately, collapse.

After the outrageous manner in which the United States judicial system has been abused by the Democrats, it will not take much for society to rush headlong into the calamity I predict might happen.

Hope I’m wrong.
